Elyse & Andrew Panjic were married and had their reception at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia on Sunday July 11, 2010. Hallie Jane's was the caterer and Studio A Photography provided the pictures.

Every wedding is special, and I always strive to help couples realize their vision. Elyse and Andy had a delightfully unique vision. The ceremony was held in the Day Chapel, where I recorded the audio from the preacher, bride/groom, guitarist and pianist.

The reception followed immediately in the Visitor's Center. Elyse & Andrew selected special music for the cocktail/dinner time and for dancing. They compiled all of their selections and provided guests with a CD to take home, along with a sentimental rosemary plant.

Elyse & Andrew chose 4 uplights to match the wedding colors, which remained static during the entire reception, adding a wonderful ambience to the live plants. The Botanical Gardens has such an amazing atmosphere with the tropical plants surrounding guests, enhancing the beauty of any event. After Elyse & Andy's first dance, guests were invited to join in, and the beautiful couple enjoyed a final dance all to themselves as all guests moved to the lobby to see them off! What a wonderful wedding and reception!

Laura & Will Hammond's reception was held at the Georgian Hotel, Ballroom & Palm Room on June 26, 2010. Trumps provided the delicious food and Wingate Downs was the photographer.

When I pulled up to the Georgian Hotel, I was extremely delighted to find a parking space right on Jackson Street. I was feeling like this was going to be an "easier" load-in at this venue. It didn't take long to eat my words when I discovered that the elevator was broken and would not be fixed for a few more days. Well, the show must go on. I'm sure I was a sight-to-be-seen, pulling carts up the front-entrance stairs! Despite the fairly major load-in setback, the setup, uplighting and extra-speaker were all set and ready before the first guests arrived.

Once the reception was underway, the memories of lifting speakers in the June heat quickly faded. The 3 custom edited first dances were beautiful. For the father-daughter dance, I took Georgia on my Mind - Ray Charles and You are So Beautiful to Me by Joe Cocker and spliced them together seamlessly. Maybe a pro-mashup is in the near-future ;)

After the formalities, pictures and cake-cutting, it was time for open-dancing. I tell you, that the 3 hours of dancing flew by, because the dance-floor was packed and everyone was having a blast!
Laura, Will, and their families certainly know how to party! What a wonderful reception! Enjoy a few pictures.

Lori & Andrew Randall's June 12 reception was held at the Emory Conference Center in Atlanta.
the ECC handled the catering and decorations for the hall, Frank Gibson was the photographer.

The evening began with an outdoor cocktail hour in the beautiful ECC courtyard. After the introductions, Lori and Andrew danced to "She's Got a Way" by Billy Joel, one of my personal faves. During dinner, I projected their slideshow in the front corner. Since there was absolutely no way of running 60ft of RCA cable (audio) back to my setup, I decided to use a wireless pack to transmit the audio - flawless and no messy cords!

We kicked off dancing with the Anniversary Dance. It was Andrew's grandparents, married 57 years, who won. Once dancing music started, the dancefloor never stopped. The floor was packed the whole night, even after the newlyweds left! Lori and friends even danced a choreographed routine to "We're All in This Together" from High School Musical. Fabulous time! May 29, 2010: Gemma & Matt English were married and had their reception at the Tucker Plantation in Colbert, GA. They had two ceremonies, one Hindu and one Catholic, followed by a wonderful reception. I ran live sound for both ceremonies (via lav mic and wireless handhelds for readers) from a small booth in the back of the room. The Hindu ceremony was video recorded and fed live to my projector in the front, so the guests could easily see what was happening! The projector and screen were moved into the main reception room for the personalized slideshow after the ceremonies. The photographer was Jenny Evelyn, caterer was Trumps, florist was Gardenia Floral Design, and Athens Photo Booths was setup in back.

What a great Prom! Hundreds of Madison Co. students had a fantastic time dancing to a huge variety of music....for 4 hours! Wow! County, Hip-Hop, Techno, Pop, and so much more kept everyone happy. I also love working in the grand hall because it is ridiculously easy to load in and out of. I had a great time, enjoy the pictures.

Monsignor Donovan (MonDon) High School's Prom was a huge success! They picked a disco theme, complete with the disco ball, and 70's-inspired snacks and disco-decorations on the walls. The Prom King & Queen even had themed crowns - fantastic! Of course, the whole evening wasn't JUST disco - the MonDon students had a great time dancing to all sorts of music. It was my first time working with Augusta Prep - I was very impressed by these kids.
They planned a Chinese-themed Prom, complete with trays of fortune cookies, and a dragon, held up with helium balloons. The Augusta Prep students proved that they can dance to all different styles of music: from Marvin Gaye to Earth Wind & Fire, to New Boyz to Darude.
This was also my first excursion with my new Horton Hauler Trailer - loved every second of it - I was able to setup and teardown in about half the time. Enjoy the Pix!

Wow! What a beautiful reception. Karen and Jason made the effort to create a formal, classy, but very fun reception. The uplighting was peacock blue, set to match the bridesmaids dresses, and each table's centerpiece was a custom blown-glass vase. The only hitch of the night was before the reception even started: my GPS directed me 20 miles past the Windemere Golf Club, into a suburban neighborhood, up hwy 400. Thank goodness for the iphone, which saved the day, got me to the right place, with plenty of time to spare. Whew! Enjoy the photos.

Wow. I never ceased to be amazed with Athens Academy. The school is making efforts to "clean up" the dancing. Many people would think that the party would just die out - but no - not at all. The students at the Academy had an amazing time, dancing and singing along to hit songs. All it took was a killer light show, thumpin' subs, and a DJ that knows how to order the song flow and control the energy on the dance-floor. Can't wait until Homecoming!

For this dance, I got to field test my new lights: the ADJ Mega Panel and the 250EX Scanner.

These lights are amazing, - they really added some stellar effects to the Osborne DJ light show.

Biggest hit of the night with the Kennedy Dragons? - "All the Way Turnt Up", by Roscoe Dash, ft. Soulja Boy. All the kids knew the words and sang along while they danced!

Cedar Shoals Homecoming Dance - October 17, 2009

What an awesome dance! Of course, like so many other events this year, it was raining during load-in, there was a funky ramp that kept weaving, which my cart couldn't negotiate. But, once we were set up, gym lights off, and students started walking in, none of that other stuff mattered. 3 solid hours of dancing and fun! These kids were super savvy on all the latest hits, and I was able to deliver. My only regret is my photography abilities, they just don't do this dance justice. Enjoy the pictures~!

Both of them work the weekend shift at a Hospital, so a typical Saturday wedding would make it impossible for all of their co-workers to attend. This couple is awesome - they are fun loving and laid back. When they found out that their outdoor ceremony would have to be moved inside for rain (a common theme this year), they made light of it by selecting "Singin' in the Rain" as their introduction song. To take it to the next level, the bridal party, and the newlyweds each donned an umbrella as they walked in. Classic! Enjoy the Pictures.

Leah & Dominic Heil were married on October 10, 2009. Their beautiful reception was held at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Lake Oconee. Originally, we were supposed to be outside on the Landing, overlooking the lake. Due to excessive rain in the forecast, we partied in the Salon.

I was super impressed with the catering staff at the Ritz. Jill (the coordinator) and everyone worked so seamlessly to create a fantastic experience for the newlyweds.

As guests arrived, I played the new piano jazz trio playlist I put together - with a great response. The lack of lyrics helped it to blend into the background even better, while creating a rich ambience. Several guests commented on how much they enjoyed it.

After toasts and cake, the party was on! This couple knows how to get down. The dancefloor was full the entire night! Great reception Dominic and Leah - Enjoy the pictures.

I will remember this dance for years to come. To start things off, it was a torrential downpour when I arrived to setup. I pulled the trailer as close as I could to the door, but there was still a significant uncovered distance to be travelled. I had to wrap each speaker in a plastic tarp and wheel them in individually to ensure they didn't get wet, even though I got soaked. Once all was setup, we started the dance early, since students were waiting outside in the rain. The dance itself was great, playing all sorts of different music. Thank goodness for plastic tarps! Barrett's Bar Mitzvah was held at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia, in the conservatory.

This is an amazingly beautiful venue, with enormous glass-paned walls/ceilings and tropical plants surrounding the reception area.

After a brief cocktail time, Barrett and friends started the evening with games & line-dances. We played Coke & Pepsi, Game Show Musical Chairs, Limbo and Hula Hoop Pass. We danced the Cha-Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, and the Macarena Challenge. Following games, all guests were treated to delicious Dondero's Kitchen catering.

After dinner, the dance floor was open for all. Guests danced to a variety of music, mainly classic rock, oldies and disco. The hora was a huge success and guests had a great time dancing.

Jessica & Tim's reception was held at Marswood Hall, August 29, 2009. Tim was the best man in Tegan & Josh's wedding back in June. Their reception was also at Marswood. Despite all of the similarities between the two, Tim & Jessica put their unique style on everything possible. From the assorted flowers in mason jars, to mint-sweet tea, to a Sanford Stadium grooms cake :), there was a great deal of personality at this reception. I was even able to color match the uplighting to the flowers hanging from the chandeliers. The guests had a great time, and so did I. Best of luck!

They were married in the church, and used the Founder's Hall & Pavilion for the after-party.

We were lucky with a good spot of rain the day before to have slightly cooled temperatures for mid-August in Georgia. In the third picture below, you will see a unique portrait of the bride & groom. It is a collage of hundreds of pictures, arranged to create one large picture. I accentuated the picture and architecture of the church with a bit of well-placed uplighting. It is amazing the effect those LED lights can have. Enjoy the pictures!

Debra & Matthew's Wedding Reception was held at a family home in Macon, GA. While I was setting up around 3:30, the temperature soared to over 100 degrees. Luckily, but the time guests arrived at 6:00, it cooled a bit (I brought a fan along :) ). The property was beautifully decorated, and guests were treated to a great meal in the shade, serenaded by an eclectic country music mix. After everyone was finished eating cake, a few of the Debra's friends and family members presented a special "musical toast" to the newlyweds. Jaime & Matt's wedding reception was held at the Georgian Hotel in downtown Athens, GA.
Being that it was an afternoon reception, they opted for no lighting, which I think was a wise choice. After heavy hors d'oeuvres, the bridal party was introduced. Each member of the bridal party had their own song clip that played when they were announced. Jaime & Matt went directly to their first dance, followed by a combination mother-son / father-daughter dance. After dances was the slideshow, followed by four well-spoken toasts. Throughout the afternoon, the bridal party kept the dance floor moving to a lot of 80's and current dance music. There was a particularly *special* rendition of the Grease Megamix, acted out by member of the bridal party and a few others. A few pictures are blurry, but are worth showing - Enjoy!

Betsy and Paul Priest's wedding reception was at the Athens Country Club in Athens, GA.

Guests arrived and ate dinner as they awaited the couple. After introductions and first dances, it was time for toasts. Mike, the father-of-the-bride, started first. He welcomed everyone and told Betsy and Paul that he had a surprise toast for them, a slideshow. Mike and I had been working on the slideshow for a few weeks without the couple's knowledge. I lowered the built-in screen (super cool) and placed the projector on the dancefloor. Needless to say, Betsy and Paul were very moved by the presentation. When the show and the remainder of toasts were complete, dancing began. The rest of the evening was a blast, with dancing to all varieties of music. Camp Joint Venture is held at Camp Wil-A-Way, Fort Yargo State Park in Winder GA. The dance, from 8:30-10:30, was the "last-night party" for campers. We were lucky that the weather was beautiful, so we danced outdoors in the pool pavilion. The approx. 40 campers and approx. 30 counselors had an awesome time dancing it up! Enjoy the pics.

Tegan & Josh's wedding reception was held at Marswood Hall, in Watkinsville, GA. The evening started with a beautiful slideshow, set against pink lighting. After dinner, Tegan and Josh started with their first dance, "Happy Together" by the Turtles. The first dance, as well as the father-daughter and the mother-son dances were danced with ballroom styles to match the music. Once open dancing began, the dance floor was never clear. Camp Twitch & Shout is a week long (overnight) camp held at Camp Wil-A-Way, in Fort Yargo State Park, Winder GA. The camp invites kids, ages 7-17, with tourretts syndrome to participate in fun activities such as ropes courses, bonfire, and even a dance on the last evening. All 60 of the kids from the camp danced the ENTIRE time, it was a blast! I had a great time, and I know they did too. Enjoy the pictures.

Galleria II is an upstairs room, with a beautiful ambience. The room comfortable accomodated 80 guests for the O'Neil reception.

Ashley and Daniel had "fun" written all over their reception from the start. Each member of the bridal party had their own song for introductions. After dinner, Guests danced to a wide variety of music, and had a wonderful time. The bridal party kept the party going strong, taking turns dancing in the center of the circle. Enjoy the pictures!

Cora and Jared held their wedding reception and Cora's family Farm. The Shady Oaks Farm was converted from a working Farm to a beautiful wedding venue. Tables were decorated with fresh peaches and peanuts, and food was served in the barn. Special dances were danced around the pool, and the happy couple left on the back of a tractor. Being an outdoor reception, we did have to contend with the excessive amounts of rain passing through over the past few days. There were short bursts of rain, but luckily there was enough of a reprieve so that guests could enjoy the newlyweds! Enjoy the pictures!

Howard B. Stroud Elementary had it's end-of-the-year Field Day.
In the morning, hundreds of kids played soccer, tug-of-war, raced, and played all sorts of other games. In the afternoon, after lunch, they held a dance for the students. The first 30 minutes were for kindergarten and first graders only. Then the second through fifth graders came in, while the younger kids went into the gym. The older kids had a longer dance and tons of fun!!
These kids really know how to dance! We had a dance contest right at 2:00 in the afternoon, what a great time! Enjoy the pictures below

Athens Regional Medical Center hosts it's annual Staff and Volunteer Luncheon for well over 3,000 people. The event is held in the cafeteria, in the basement, in the hospital. Since there
are so many people coming through, they have two "shifts" to come and eat delicious food! 11-2, then 4:30-6:30. These pictures really highlighted the new facade I just received. I think it really cleans up the presentation and hides all the things nobody really wants to see. Enjoy!

Dr. Tradd Harter & Classic City Orthodontics, along with several other Orthodontic Practices from the Athens area, teamed up to build 10 bikes for local children in need. The bikes were built at Bishop Park in Athens, GA. They enlisted the services of Quixote Consulting, who are veterans in leading bike-building events.

The 11:30 event started with lunch for all followed by a few ice-breakers lead by Rob from Quixote. Team members had to answer questions correctly to earn tokens. Those tokens "bought" them a bike to build. After the bike was built, it had to be tested out on the obstacle course, then decorated. Teams showed off their decorating skills and were invited to create a live commercial about the bikes they built. the afternoon was very fun and engaging. At 3:00, four of the bike recipients surprised the builders by showing up in-person to receive their bike.

Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School held their 2009 Junior/Senior Prom at The Classic Center, Olympia Room. The Prom theme was A Night in Hollywood/Oscars. The room was divided into 2 sections: 1 section featured movie posters, life-sized cardboard replicas of movie starts and tables for sitting and talking. The annual 5K Human Race, "The Race is Never Over", was a big success. Before the race, runners enjoyed an eclectic mix of music while they stretched and prepared to run. The winner of the race came in under 16 minutes. That is quite impressive. The race coordinators handed out awards and door prizes to many of the runners. Enjoy the pictures below!

Kim & Matt Porter held their ceremony and reception at the Thompson House & Gardens in Bogart, GA.

The ceremony started at 5:00 and the weather couldn't have been more perfect (A beautiful 75 degrees and a light breeze). We ran the sound wirelessly for the ceremony to avoid laying wires and cables across walkways.

The reception began immediately, as guests walked to the rear of the house where a delicious buffet was awaiting them. I was setup indoors, but setup two speakers outdoors, so guests could enjoy music wherever they chose to eat. Kim & Matt ate upstairs in the house. The Grand Entrance could not have been more fun and unique! The newlyweds chose a special song to introduce each member of their wedding party. I think guests could tell that this was going to be a fun reception!

Open dancing was a blast. We started out pretty traditional, but ended up dancing the night away to mostly hip hop and dance music, with a few 80's tunes thrown in.
I have to say that this reception was truly a Blast! Thanks for the fantastic time and the great memories! Enjoy the pictures below.

The Catholic Center @ the University of Georgia held their annual Easter Carnival and Easter Egg Hunt from 9am-11am in the church parking lot. Kids under 10 could get their face painted, decorate flower pots, make candy carrots, make a bunny-ear headband, play games and jump around in the inflatable ball pit. At 10:45 we had the ever-popular "Chicken Dance" and at 11:00 we started the Easter Egg Hunt. I played music from and for every generation that was present, ranging from Chubby Checker to the Jonas Brothers. Enjoy the Pictures!

Whit Davis Elementary, a perennial leader in the relay for life fundraising effort, held a dance for 3rd-5th grade students. 150+ students from the school came out to have a great time. Students were able to purchase snow cones, pizza, drinks and candy to help raise money for cancer. For the entire 90 minute dance, the party was ON! Lots of interactive dances, different styles of music and tons of fun. Of course, all the music was age-appropriate. The biggest hits of the evening were the 7:00 "Stanky-Leg" contest, which ended in a three-way tie and the last song, Soulja Boy's "Turn My Swag On". Pictures are on their way!

The Georgia Club

Maggie and Sham were married on March 28, 09. They were originally planning on having the wedding ceremony outdoors. Unfortunately, due to torrential downpours and thunderstorms passing through, the couple had to move the event indoors. Lucky for them, The Georgia Club has a fantastic facility (and coordinator, Brooke) to accommodate any situation.

At 6:30, the reception began with Mark Maxwell performing beautiful background music on guitar. The bridal party and newlyweds entered at 7:00. Maggie and Sham went directly into their first dance, a custom time-edit of "Endless Love" by Diana Ross /Lionel Ritchie.

After a delicious dinner, guests were treated to wedding cake accompanied by sentimental toasts. After guests had eaten their desert, they were ready to dance! Guests danced and had a blast celebrating this special occasion.

Maggie and Sham had a beautiful reception and wish them all the best!

Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity Semi-Formal

J.R.'s Baitshack Downtown Athens

The semi-formal was scheduled from 9pm to 12 midnight. We were located in the upstairs bar, right off of Jackson street. The intimate room was the perfect size for the fraternity's event. Computerized dance-floor lighting bounced off of walls and created a great party atmosphere. Fraternity members and their dates danced and partied until well past the scheduled ending time. Rob, the bar manager asked me to stay until 1:30 to play for the general patrons afterward. I had a great time, enjoy the pictures!

Kennedy Elementary PTO Dance, 6-8pm

What a fun dance! Kids, teachers and parents danced to a variety of music from Hannah Montana to DJ Unk to the Isley Brothers. There were a lot of fun, interactive dances like "follow the leader" and the "hokey pokey remix" as well as dances for kids to get out and do thier own dances. Enjoy a few pictures!

Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009. The Catholic Center at UGA (Athens, GA) hosted a Valentine's dinner and dance for the over 21 church crowd. The evening began with a romantic dinner accompanied by love songs from the likes of Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin. Guests danced to everything from Glenn Miller to Elvis Presley to Diana Ross. Even while the cleanup committee put away decorations, they were still dancing to hits from yester-year.

Athens Regional Medical Center's (ARMC) holiday staff holiday party was held in the hospital's basement cafeteria. The party was split up into two sessions to help accommodate the different "shifts" of employees. ARMC employs over 3,000 professionals from maintenance to office workers to nurses to surgeons.

The first session was from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. As employees had their lunch break, they stopped by the cafeteria for a special holiday meal of shrimp, ham, wings and great deserts. In each of the lunch shifts, I led a "Christmas Pop-Culture" trivia game with two contestants at a time. Contestants were asked 5 questions such as, "What was Rudolph never allowed to participate in?" (Reindeer Games) Other events taking place in the morning session were: The ARMC choir singing Christmas Carols; A hilarious skit put on by the Rehab department; Value Awards presented by the hospital administration. Two brave souls ventured up to sing karaoke before the party was over.

I had over two hours before the next session began, and the dietary staff was eager for entertainment. I kicked it up and they sang some Motown karaoke. I was even lucky enough to sing "Proud Mary" with them, dancing and all.

At 4:30, the second session was underway. The evening-shift employees had an opportunity to come and eat a fantastic dinner and socialize with co-workers. This two hour session was a bit more laid back, lots of folks came up to sing karaoke and their was no shortage of laughter and fun. I led the game, "Game Show Musical Chairs" where contestants must go retrieve objects from the audience and avoid being the last to return to the stage. This game was a huge hit and had everyone in the room participating. We ended the evening at 6:30 with the cupid shuffle. I had a fantastic time at ARMC. Enjoy the pictures below.

HBS Gingerbread Jig

Howard B. Stroud Elementary School hosted it's annual holiday dance for the students. This year's dance was titled, "Gingerbread Jig" and started at 6:00 p.m.

Although there were only about 30 students that came to the dance, it was a big success.
The first hour, I led several "interactive" dances like "Follow the Leader", Limbo, "the Cha-Cha Slide" and the "Cupid Shuffle". During the second hour, students were ready for some serious hip-hop jams! The students danced it up until the clock hit 8:00. Thanks HBS Elementary!

Whit Davis Holiday Party

The Whit Davis Elementary School Staff Holiday Party was held on December 5, 2008. The teachers held their yearly party in the "big room" at Buffalo's Cafe. Although I have been to the restaurant before, I had never witnessed the great space they have available to rent in the back.

The event manager informed me that the room used to be a warehouse for Sears and was recently renovated. The space includes rows of flat panel televisions along two facing walls, a pool table, a bar and a catering kitchen. The white lights that are draped from the ceilings provide a very classy touch.

The party, from 6-9 p.m. started with traditional Christmas tunes while guests ate and mingled with friends and co-workers. At about 7, I turned on the dance-lighting and a crowd of eager dancers hit the floor. We had a great mix of genres through the night and the dance floor stayed full all night. As an interlude in the dancing, we played "Game Show Musical Chairs (Scavenger Hunt style)".

When 9:00 rolled around, nobody was ready for the night to be over. The party was a success and we all had a blast. Thanks Whit Davis Elementary teachers & staff, I'll be seeing you again soon.

Colson Wedding

Saturday, November 22, 2008. Ken and Kim Colson were married at their beautiful house on Lake Oconee. The weather was crisp, yet sunny for their 4:00 ceremony in the backyard. Guests were treated to delicious cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while the newlyweds finished up their pictures. After the cake-cutting, Ken and Kim started their first dance with the song, "Unforgettable". About a minute into the song, Li'l Neon appeared and told them to spice things up a bit because "You all are not that boring!". The Colsons broke into a fun, energetic montage of dance tunes including clips from Grease, MC Hammer, Sir-Mix-A-Lot, and the Cupid Shuffle.
The guests really enjoyed this unique touch.

After a fantastic dinner, dancing commenced under the stars. Many guests braved the freezing temperatures to come out on the dance floor and celebrate. Butane Heaters and the heated upstairs living room served as a temporary refuge from the cold.
I had a great time with the Colsons and I wish them all the best! Enjoy the few pictures that I took below.
